HEXDRIVE®
The Fortin Hexdrive brings new tone shaping possibilities for today’s heavy musician.
Originally designed for, and only available within the Neural DSP’s Nameless Suite, the HexDrive now available in analog form as the HexDrive pedal!
The HexDrive feature set will appeal to every tonal connoisseur with a familiar, yet unique, combination of everything needed. The HexDrive transitions from clean boost into overdrive delivering the best of both worlds.
Drive the front end of your amp cleaner to at first, getting more of its natural character, and then at higher gain settings, kick the overdrive in for the sweetest midrange push that takes your tone to a whole new level.
With a higher output than a typical OD pedal, with additional headroom and an irregular style of clipping, this pedal gives an outstanding blend of both boost and overdrive - all wrapped up in one easy to use pedal.
What separates the HexDrive from other OD pedals?
Before 11 o’clock, the drive control acts almost like a clean boost with no additional clipping
Not a regular tone control! Feeling more like a mid range punch control, at all the way off, it’s flatter, more natural - at half way you are in the realms of a regular mid boosted OD, and at higher levels, that mid is pushed right forward while taking some of the low, flabby bass out making the HexDrive the tightest OD pedal available today!
Boasting industry standard true bypass switching with top side jacks perfect for tight pedal board applications. Proudly built in North America.

The gain sweep is where it is at.... it's not just a gain control, the gain doesn't add dirt until about 10-11 o clock. With this, you can drive the front end of your amp - cleaner to at first - allowing you to enjoy your amps natural character, and then at higher gain settings on the pedal, you get a sweet midrange push that takes your tone to a whole new level.
With a higher output than a typical OD pedal, with additional headroom and an irregular style of clipping, this pedal gives an outstanding blend of both boost and overdrive - all wrapped up in one easy to use pedal.
Level: Adjusts the output of the pedal. The higheryou have this, the louder your signal will be and push the input of your amp harder.Gain: The amount of gain, or overdrive, is applied to your signal. The first part of the sweep is pretty clean, you really notice the gain coming in past about 11 o’clock. You should spend some time with this, trying it lower and then higher, as more gain is not always what is needed!Tone: Not a regular tone control! Q: Is the HexDrive a Tube Screamer?
A: Although the Hex Drive shares similar heritage to the humble TS, it is far apart from the regular little green box.
Q: Is the Hex Drive the same as the digital Neural DSP version?
A: When the first Fortin NeuralDSP product was released, Mike wanted to boost the signal going into it but he didn't want to put a regular TS in front. With this in mind he designed his variation of that circuit and the clever people at NeuralDSP made it digital... due to public demand we created a physical version from Mike's design!
Q: Is the Hex Drive a clean or a dirty boost?
A: The gain sweep starts clean, but about 10-11 o'clock it starts to apply dirt to the signal.
